The online group lessons from Jane have been great. We cover grammar, read books together and improve our speaking skills as a group in a friendly atmosphere.
We have been doing presentations about topics of our interest, so this helps us to learn not only the language but also the culture, geography, music and food of Germany. This has really improved my vocabulary, and when trying to converse with native speakers, gives me a range of things I can try to talk about.
The online group lessons work very well, especially for speaking and listening, which are key aspects when learning any language. The other benefit is the ease of being able to log into the lesson from your own home, which is convenient and time-efficient.
Our group has enjoyed the lessons so much we are planning a trip to Germany to improve our language skills further, when the Covid restrictions are lifted!
I had been attending German language courses in-group sessions for a number of years. I had reached a point where for various reasons I was not making progress. It was only when Jane suggested that online lessons would be very beneficial. Only now, after many years of learning German have I made steady progress on Skype. I think that having personal tuition for some people is very beneficial as both tutor and student can spend an extended time together without the distractions and time limitations of group lessons.
I would highly recommend participating in one of Jane Froehlich’s online group language lessons. For the past year, I was a member of the Intermediate German Group Class. I joined these sessions as I wanted to develop my conversation skills. The result was that I can now confidently discuss my personal opinions on a wide range of topics, present themed PowerPoint presentations and easily manage conversational tasks, such as rescheduling an appointment. I found the experience very rewarding, and it was a joy to study in a group with friendly students of a similar level. It continues to be a highlight of my week and I would encourage students who learn alone to participate as the skills I have gained have dramatically improved my advancement in my private sessions.
Online group lessons are fun and just as interactive as in class. I would highly recommend them.
I had been learning German with Jane for a couple of years before switching to online learning at the start of the pandemic. Jane made the transition easy for me. She has a lot of experience teaching remotely and is able to use all the functionality of Skype, such as the chat for vocabulary and screen sharing for audio files. She has all the materials we need ready for the lesson so we make the best use of the time we have together. I get as much enjoyment from the online lessons as I did the face-to-face ones.
Online lessons work really well for me. Jane has really helped me to improve my confidence in German. She has laid solid foundations of the German language, which will help me to retain it and achieve a high grade in GCSE.
