Jane took time to understand my reasons for wanting to learn German and what I was hoping to achieve by having a German tutor. After having spent a couple of years trying various self-study books, Duolingo and other online apps, having Jane as a tutor completely changed my understanding of the German language. Instead of learning stock phrases, Jane taught me the building blocks of the language onwards, this gave me a solid foundation to advance. I found the lessons varied and interesting. Jane is a diligent and thorough language tutor, with a keen eye for detail. She has a gentle but firm approach with students and is able to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Through this understanding she then constructs a way of working which supports the individual needs of the learner, encouraging students to succeed by giving them confidence in their abilities.
I have spent the last year learning German with Jane and my knowledge and capabilities have improved greatly during that time. I am currently in Germany utilising the skills Jane has taught me.
